to elevate and grow New Jersey, New York and Connecticut Lacrosse. The Lax Lab was formed after identifying the gap that exists between New Jersey Lacrosse players and traditional hotbeds. Our founder, Jules Heningburg, is a New Jerseyan through and through – a former Seton Hall Prep and Rutgers All-American, turned Professional All-Star. He knows the potential that exists in New Jersey. Most importantly, he has done it himself and wants to take others along for the journey.

SITUATIONS

Making the Most of EVERY Situation

After a tremendous season, Jules could not wait to play in 2020. With all the uncertainties that the year brought, the PLL was able to host a tournament season in a Bubble, however,Jules did not make the cut. Unfortunately, he tested positive for COVID-19 about a month before the season kicked off. Though he was asymptomatic, the lingering effects of the virus impacted Jules’ heart and lungs. He was uncleared to play and had to depart the Bubble and cheer on his team from afar.

Jules was especially eager to take the field, as he penned a powerful piece Standing at the Crossroads bringing to light his previously unaware background and story as a black player in the sport. Since then, he has worked to unite the Black Professional players, helping to establish the , and serves as the acting President. Their primary goal is to improve the diversity of lacrosse, specifically at the professional level, and create a more inclusive culture.

Not only did he commit to being a voice in advocacy, but he spent his time off focusing on launching Mission Primed. Taking notes from his journey, Mission Primed was developed to help nourish and enrich young men with the tools they need to excel both on and off the field. It is more than just a one-time experience for these kids, it is a mentorship and networking program that will follow them beyond their high school years.

PASSION
Bringing The Passions Together

After years of training the Offensive Position with Juke Lab and success with Mission Primed - Jules decided to bring the best of both together to form Lax Lab. Everything we do stems from the Mission Primed methodology; from the way we communicate to the lessons he learns in on-field training sessions to the access, and support that he will have in our community. We know that players need more, because Jules needed more and still does, and we provide that access to our players.
