Founded in 2018 under the name Juke Lab (specializing in exclusive offensive training), the Lax Lab emerged to bring progressive, high-level training to players in New Jersey. After a brief venture out west, founder Jules Heningburg returned to the east, establishing the headquarters in New Jersey. Today, The Lax Lab serves the Tri-State and national markets, delivering top-tier training experiences, clinics, and resources for players and coaches.

Jules began playing for the Maplewood, NJ recreation program at 7 years old. His drive and passion for the game led him to becoming a top New Jersey high school player, capping a career as an All-American at Seton Hall Prep. He would go on to become Rutgers Second All-Time Leading Scorer, and highest draft pick ever after leading the resurgence of the program as a two time captain

Our Purpose

From humble beginnings, we’ve always believed that we could achieve our dreams through hard work, faith, dedication, and proper guidance. We acknowledge that lacrosse players, akin to our past selves, put in considerable effort but often need more structure and a plan to follow beyond club, rec, and high school settings to maximize their potential. We recognized this as an opportunity to share the knowledge we’ve been fortunate to acquire, positively influence the next generation, and enhance training strategies and standards along the way.

FAQ’s

Lax Lab Training is our year-round, weekly group training. “Lax Lab” as a whole encompasses a lot of programs, but our weekly training sessions consisting of offensive (Juke Lab), Defensive (DLab), and Live Reps is our staple.

Players are invited to our training and can sign up openly depending on the location. However, if you are not competitive enough, we have the right to refund your money. We have a strict policy at the bottom of the FAQs outlining our expectations for training.

If you are not on a club, you must get approval from us before registration unless the specific session explicitly says otherwise. Please email info@thelaxlab.com for more information.

Lax Lab took over what was formally just “Juke Lab” in 2022. Juke Lab is our offensive training system. Players are taught Juke Lab concepts during Lax Lab Weekly Group Sessions, private training, and across the country at locations we travel to. The same holds true for Defense Lab (DLAB).

During weekly Lax Lab Group Training, we offer live reps in the form of offense vs. defense. We focus on small-part progressions, with an emphasis on implementing technical skills and improving decision-making, communication, IQ, awareness, and overall feel for the game.

We work with players from 2nd through college. Our group sessions vary based on location and times, but we offer a wide variety of training opportunities. Our goal is to give players of all skill levels the opportunity to work with us.

Lacrosse Athletic Performance Training is specific athletic training focused on the lacrosse player. We work with our partner AP2T in Metuchen to provide players with opportunities weekly to develop this critical aspect of the lacrosse athlete.

Mission Primed is Lax Lab’s holistic development arm. We specialize in lacrosse training events that go beyond the game. By prioritizing the person over the player, we empower athletes to recognize the profound connection between life and athletic performance. Our Senior Experience is our premier flagship program for committed seniors, along with Primed Gems, our mentorship program.

Primed Gems is our mentorship program that allows our staff to work more closely with players both locally and nationally. For more information, please email us at info@thelaxlab.com

Our app provides players with weekly custom workout programs based on their individual skills and positions. To access the app, use this form HERE.

  1. NO CREDITS. We have limited capacity at Lax Lab sessions. If you alert us that you cannot attend due to a sickness at least 24 hours in advance, we will do our best to accommodate crediting a session within the same season, within reason. Note: sessions in season are often sold out. If credits cannot be used in the same season, we will allow you to apply up to 1 credit for the following season (one fall credit can carry over to the following winter credit). 
  2. DO NOT SHOW UP TO SESSIONS ASSUMING YOU CAN BE THERE BECAUSE YOU MISSED ONE. You are degregrading the session for everyone. We will remove you and unfortunately not let you back. 
  3. Weather Cancellations are NOT refunded. All coaches and field costs are paid for in advance and do not get refunded. Do not ask for a refund.  
  4. You are expected to COMPETE. If you are not competing, we will refund your money and give your spot to someone else who wants to work and improve. 
  5. No player “clicks”. This is an inclusive environment with players from different clubs and backgrounds. Be a TEAM player. 
  6. If you do not like the rules above, DO NOT sign up. Please find somewhere else to train.
